1999
Mark Folk is called into full time ministry.
2000
Mark Folk and Barry Strickland meet for the first time.
2001
Mark launces New Wilderness Adventures. Their first ministry event was a Father/Son Retreat. Bands of Brothers/Men's groups began forming.
2002
Heroes Boot Camps are held in Juneau, Alaska and in Wyoming. Bands of Brothers hits 50 men attending regularly.
2005
Bands of Brothers expand to 13 groups. We held our 2nd Alaska Adventure and Boot Camp. Held Heroes Boot Camps in NC and Colorado. First adventure to Minnesota Boundary Waters. Barry Strickland launches prison ministry in Texas.
2006
1st Guide Training event held in Bryson City, NC. Golf Tournament and Pheasant hunt. Hosted Divinely Designed womens retreat in Atlanta, GA.
2009
New Wilderness conducts the first International Heroes Boot Camp in Nicaragua.
2011
Barry Strickland actively working with over 800 men and women in prisons. Tim Little joins the staff. New Wilderness continues to conduct Boot Camps throughout the country.
2015
New Wilderness expands the Guide Training. Holds its first Next Retreat with ministry and business leaders around the region.
2020
Guide Training includes six men. Bob Ivins joins the staff of New Wilderness Adventures. Bands of Brothers continues to grow.
2021
New Wilderness celebrates 20 years in ministry. Guide Training becomes a main focus for New Wilderness with plans to add 12 guides in training for 2022.
