Well, we kept him alive for a whole year!

My little boy is growing up. Sunday Jack turned 1. It seemed like it would take forever throughout the pregnancy but after he was born time has flown by. What a whirlwind. Take a look at some of the pictures below. Thanks to all for helping us raise our son. Keep praying for us and for NWA!

His mommy did such a great job preparing for this occasion. She worked hard to theme it and get it just right. It was a “truck” party. He loves trucks and we had everything truck.

Precious little one!

We are excited about partnering with the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte. We have been praying for an outlet to reach out to men in Charlotte and the surrounding areas. We have also been praying that God will appoint this time, not only to talk to people about Christ, freedom and life in masculinity and obviously adventure, but also have the opportunity to partner with like-hearted believers in the area. We are going to have a great time and will also be promoting our boot camp that is in October. See Boot Camp

Come on out a join us in this mission. You will have a great time!

It’s September 15. USNWC

My two preciouseseses or is that a word?

I want to pay tribute to those folks that mean so much to me. Great place to start is with my two preciouseseses. Now don’t go to Lord of the Rings Imagery although we do a lot. I am talking about how much these two mean to me. They are such a blessing and joy to my life.

Right now, Jack is screaming. OK, what should a daddy do? He does not want to go to sleep. He has learned how to sit up on his own and now sits up after we put him down and cannot find his way back down. Poor thing, it’s killing our hearts. Kryssy had to go outside. We were both about to cry. Last night we kept going in there and helping him, but it seems that if we keep doing that, that we will cycle there every night. So we are opting with the “let him cry it/figure it out” method.. Not my favorite!

These times, oddly enough or not oddly but mysteriously, no not that either; these times draw me to think of God, yes! Waxing spiritual here; He lets us cry it out sometimes.

But anyhow, these two are awesome! My wife is an amazing person. She, although not always believing it, has a large capacity for love. She shows it in so many ways. She is so forgiving (bonus for me) and has a heart to see freedom in peoples lives. She is very humble, right mom? She loves the Lord and really does a great job supporting me and mothering Jackson.

Kryssy has made such a huge difference in my life. Together we have walked through some very tough times. God has strengthened us so much and grew us up together. She’s my best friend and the person I want to run to to see what she has to say. I am very much in love with her and thankful she feels the same way about me!

Not only all that, but she is firecracker hot!

Love you Honey!

Well, and my Jack is awesome too. Almost a year old now..blog on that..see August 26..

He is very humble, right mom? Takes after mommy I guess. He is a very loving, inquisitive child. God has really been initiating me through him. I love being a Dad and am excited about the years to come!

Pray for me and my family!

More profiles to come!

Colorado Adventure

Adam was not created in the garden but in the wilderness and ever since the eden experience men have ached to be in the wilderness. Colorado is awesome wilderness friends and the wilderness is really a catalyst for a man’s masculine journey; calling a man to realize and live as the image barer that God created him to be. That is different for every man. For some it is really the wilderness, camping, fishing etc and for others it’s their business or fixing up that car or truck. But there is something innate in all of us that calls us to be wild and move beyond the day by day tasks of the day.

This last Colorado experience was that way again for me and the other guys that met there. We had an awesome time experiencing the Lord, pushing through to the depths of woundedness and life to receive more life and freedom. We saw men encouraging each other to take risks, to move beyond their normal lives and to go home ready to fight for their children, wives and families.

I personally had some desires awakened in me that I had forgot about and God began to initiate me in some areas where I was acting more like a child and less like a man. Those are hard conversations to have with God for sure but exciting too. It means that I was able to learn more about who God originally designed me to be. And friends, that ’s what I want. I desire to be fully what God designed me to be. I desire to be fully alive. To be whole and righteous. I want to be about my Father’s business.

One of the challenges on this trip was to hike Longs Peak. It’s one of the many fourteener’s in Colorado and on the quarter. Cool mountain. I hiked up about 3 miles and made camp with the team. The next morning at 4am. 6 of our guys went for the summit. I opted for some much needed time alone with God and hiked to Peacock Pool which was 2.7 miles away. I had an awesome time of discovery with God in my masculine journey. He revealed to me some specific passions about leading men into initiation. So many men have not walked into that. Never had another guy tell them that they have what it takes or that they have permission to live their desires.

Well you do! Walk in it. Live it for no one else will.

The mountains are so majestic. The creator’s grandure is written all over their peaks, their fields (right Barry?), their lakes and streams and in the awesome animals that roam the tundra.

It’s an invitation really. An invitation to live in the reality of God’s Kingdom. We have been given this kingdom, let us live, love and act like it is ours.

Go brothers, I challenge you. Take your journal and take a personal day. Sit on the beach, go to that mountain peak, by that river and listen. Praise the living God and write down everything you hear. Test what you hear. See if it is from God or the enemy and act accordingly.

Life is too short friends. Go, go be with God and bring that home to your family. Have those transcended moments with your wife and family. Choose to live right and living right is with God.

Jesus always went away. He had time for His heart in the wilderness.

Ok, so I could blab on about that but you get the picture.

Hope to see you with me next time we go!
